Family Involvement

At Kaibeto Boarding School, we recognize that parents/guardians play a vital role in student success. Family involvement is just as important as the contributions of the educators, school board members, administrators, support staff, and community members.
As a school community, we strive to create strong partnerships that foster:
- Two-way communication
- Team collaboration
- Lasting connections
These partnerships ensure that families are actively included in their children’s education and provide ongoing support for students.
Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy
Kaibeto Boarding School is committed to educating Navajo District students with the active involvement of parents/guardians. Research indicates that family involvement is one of the most important factors in student achievement. We believe all families want the best for their children, and we strive to maintain open communication and collaboration with parents to enhance learning and ensure student success.
We build ties with parents and guardians through:
- Community organizations
- Local businesses
- Family involvement activities
- School board meetings
Our educators and administrators continuously research, adopt, and implement effective strategies to increase family engagement.
Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) consists of parents, guardians, and school personnel. The PAC works to develop the school’s plan for promoting family involvement in the educational program.
Kaibeto Boarding School will notify parents and guardians about the policy and subsequent plans through written correspondence. Unless otherwise informed, we hold monthly PAC meetings on the first Wednesday of every month.
Parent/Guardian-Kaibeto Boarding School Compact
The Parent/Guardian-Kaibeto Boarding School Compact outlines how parents/guardians, Kaibeto faculty/staff, and students are responsible for building and developing partnerships for student achievement.
The school's main responsibility is to provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive learning environment, which enables students to meet the academic achievement standards of the Navajo Nation, the Bureau of Indian Education, and the State of Arizona.
Parents/guardians are responsible for staying engaged with their student's education by monitoring school attendance, homework completion and the positive use of extracurricular time. They also need to participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the student’s education.
By working together, families and educators create an environment where students thrive academically and personally.
